Optical Air Data Systems (OADS) is a high-tech research and development company specializing in fiber-optic laser sensing systems. OADS, located in Manassas, VA, has won awards for its development of world record high power single fiber lasers at 1550nm and 1064nm wavelengths and for its integration of this laser technology into high performance systems for various applications.

OADS possesses a world-class team of laser physicists, optical and electronics engineers, mathematicians and software engineers, and supporting technical staff. The purpose-built OADS facility includes optics and electronics laboratories, environmental and dust test chambers, linked computer design and fabrication, a full prototype machine shop, a laser collimation range, and a hangar for test aircraft support.

In recent years, customers have relied on the unique capabilities at OADS to design, develop and demonstrate laser sensors meeting very stressing requirements. The development of rugged and compact laser range finders, LIDARs, and Doppler LIDAR wind measurement systems are areas of special expertise at OADS.
